Dear readers, Keeping this short and sweet - the ticket links for my December visit to England are now up. It all started because the British Library invited me over for a chat during their fantasy exhibit, and then my publisher got all excited, and I can never say no to an excuse to linger in the UK for a few days.
Had a great time at the London event. Not sure if this is the place to ask questions about the book Yellowface. Feel free to ignore if it isn't.
I think June Hayward must be either unintelligent or extremely ill when she finally apologised to Athena Liu's ghost. Because ghosts are not real. She had so much more cunning and resolve when meeting Liu's ex. So, this makes me wonder, was Hayward's version of Liu's book of a good standard in the author's opinion (the opinion of R F Kuang)? The changes to Liu's manuscript by the publisher were comical, but Hayward did publish her own book which was not bad; so it's not conclusive to me whether Hayward's book does any justice to Liu's original book (regardless that she clearly thinks so herself). It may be a deliberate mystery or it may be unimportant, but I'm curious about the author's opinion about the book.
Going to the British Library's fantasy exhibit this week! A month too early it seems (maybe not for the weather?). Will have to check out Daunt Books. Good luck!

Have a great UK visit! Daunt Bookshop is very much my favourite go to store. A bibliophile’s pleasure palace. 😊🙏
