Dear readers, Today is the day! My US tour stops, in order, with ticket links: Monday, May 15: New York, NY @ BARNES AND NOBLE UNION SQUARE with Miwa Messer Tuesday, May 16: Brooklyn, NY @ BOOKS ARE MAGIC with Peng Shepherd Wednesday, May 17: St. Louis, MO @
I am a little confused with the choice to visit Palo Alto, one of the wealthiest cities with one of the most elitist college institutions in the US, over Los Angeles- especially if it is the only stop in California! Isn’t visiting Stanford, Harvard, etc counter to the sentiment of criticizing elite academia? Moreover, in choosing some of the highest income cities to tour at, won’t you be excluding less privileged people from being able to come? I absolutely love your writing, but unless I’m missing a more crucial motive to choosing these locations, I’m a bit heartbroken to see what seems like a hypocritical tour list.
Dear Ms. Kuang: I have sent you a letter, via your publisher, expressing my admiration and to convey how deeply moved I am with BABLE. I have not read such an extraordinary novel in a very long time and I am very grateful that your beautiful creation has added quality to the fabric of my life. I am heart-broken that your tour does not have you visiting Washington DC. At George Washington University, BABEL was a must read for all graduate students. There is a really nice bookstore here, somewhat famous, named POLITICS AND PROSE. I can assure you that if you came, you would receive the warmest of welcomes. I wanted to ask some questions and have you enlighten me on topics that we both have an interest in.
I reserved a signed copy of BABEL with the Porter Square Bookshop. I left Catherine a possible dedication when you have the chance to sign. I am eagerly awaiting YELLOWFACE. Is a special edition available from a bookseller in the United States.? If not I will go with Waterstone. I truly am awaiting the next novel that you are working on. Again, I am certain that it touches on many things, questions, and thoughts that we both share. It would be so nice to be able to speak with you. As an undergraduate studying comparative literature, I was convinced that only the work of James Joyce would ever have the most impact on my life. With BABEL,you are coming in right next to him. I am certain that you will be warmly received when you go ahead to give readings of YELLOWFACE.
I congratulate you on the many wonderful things happening in your life for you for all the current present moments. Again, please accept my most sincere thanks for becoming someone who will be traveling along side me for the foreseeable future. This was unexpected and, thereby, has become very precious to me. Take the utmost of care of yourself and travel safely during your tour. Always remember that there is some random guy in DC who is so appreciative of you and the astonishment given by your incredible work.//
I just pre-ordered a signed copy since I live in Tampa, FL and will be unable to attend any of your events :( I appreciate the availability of signed copies online, though! Hope you’re doing well and wish you the best during your studies and tours! :)

Dear Ms. Kuang: Please, please, do include DC in your next tour. We are most in need of your word-smith nourishment and insight. Many hugs/ Brooke
Are there still plans to find a large venue for Palo Alto?
Hi Rebecca, Great to hear! Question: is the Harvard Bookstore talk on Monday 5/22 or Tuesday 5/23? Thanks!
You should have a stop at Powell’s in Portland 📚📖
